We moved to a pirate town last year and it has been the best thing to ever happened to my 8yr old. What was a mild childhood obsession with pirates has turned into a full blown infatuation.

Much to our dismay, we have discovered that many businesses here simply have a pirate name without an a pirate theme. Knowing this, we still hope to find real pirates in full regalia staffing them all, preferably with eye patches and pet parrots.

Since we are still in our first year living in the south, I’ve increased my iced coffee consumption. I have also made it a policy to ask baristas if they make an off-menu delicious drink. This has lead me to some incredible coffees, including this delight at Blackbeard Coffee Roasters! He combined hazelnut and almond rocca syrups then topped it with ground cinnamon. I tend not to like my drinks too sweet and this un-named treat was perfection. Just slightly sweet with hints of chocolate, nutty cookies and cinnamon.

Blackbeard coffee near ECU also offers scrumptious baked goods and T-shirts. It is worth a trip if you are in Greenville and if you are not local you can join their coffee club and have their hand roasted coffee delivered to you at home.
